Hello all!

I started sanding the inside bottom with 1200 grit sand paper. (deep scratches are now gone thanks to the new hand held sander I bought) After 1200 grit sanding, I'm now on Novus 3 and buffing it. It's looking really good and is pretty smooth now, just a little haze.

Should I skip the fine buffing and go onto the Brasso compound? Will Brasso
make it look like new after Novus 3 process?

What do you guys think?
Please give me some suggestions on how to use Brasso.

Thanks in advance! = )

why dont you go to 2000 grit. my friend used it and had no haze. just keep the sandpaper wet.

I just did my 240G acrylic, and I would suggest going with the novus #2 and then the #1....It done wonders IMO on my tank.

Hey guys,

First of all...I would like to thank you for the responses!

Second, I am really curious to how a lot of people make it seem like its really easy to use novus or brasso. I mean, when I read forums it tends to sound like its so easy to get it all shiny and scratchless.... am I missing something? Are you guys using power tools buffing with brasso or novus? Please let me know what im doing wrong?

just a micro fiber towel and novous seems simple enough.. but its not that simple..

leaving this post in a good note, I'm sorry to sound so negative, but i'm really getting fraustrated at myself... not taking it out on you guys at all!

you might want to go at it with 2000 grit... its going to take you forever to get it from 1200 to flawless..

the steps ive used

1 to clean - 2000 grit or greater wet sand only- novus 3 - novus 1 to clean up the novus 3 - novus 2 - novus 1 again and if needed do the novus 1 again.. doing the novus 2 and 1 back and forth a few times may be needed..

its easy for small/fine scratches.. bigger scratches take some work... using a polisher/sander should only be done if you know how to use them well... much like doing a car its easy to "burn" the acrylic..
