I got a few pieces of sandstone from north mississippi that would make nice caves. Does sandstone effect water params as it tends to erode quickly

Sandstone as opposed to mudstone stands up well in fishtanks, in some cases though the reddish types can raise your iron levels in the tank, your regular water changes will take care of this.
