So I got a killer deal on 2 12" Kolbias but I was noticing today the larger one that looks to be a male was biting a few of my other bichirs mostly on the tail. I am guessing this is a dominance thing and will be sorted out soon.

He took a nip at my Ansorgi and he swam a lap and then came back and scooted under the Kolbia's head so unless he is dumb as a box of rocks this is a fairly normal behavior...

Yep normal behavior for a maturing bichir trying to be the boss. This kind of behavior are commonly seen in ornates. As long as there are no injury that would lead to a bichir's death, then they should be fine and sill settle down soon enough.

Hey it was a spur of the moment thing. I walked in and they had them for $300 for the pair and they took $250 You can have one of the Ansorgis I have in the freezer if ya want
