Hey everyone I'm new to these forums but I have been keeping fish for 6 years and I work in a store too! My question is, I recently got a pair of Swordtails known as Sanke Swordtails (my guess is it got its name from the koi variety) and the female has looked like she is going to pop for sometime now. My only understanding of swordtails, or any live bearer for that matter is that it typically takes 4 weeks. Any suggestions or tips? My manager is relying on me for the babies and I'm not pulling through, thanks!

swordtails are probly one of the easiest to breed, all you need is a nice 78-80 degree water, and a breeding cage, its a little floating thing that stays in the main tank, you can separate the male and female if you feel like, but the main thing is that you separate the parents from the babies, they will eat them if they get the chance...i succesfully bred my lyretails a few times like this... and you should feed them hikari first bites, it makes them grow faster than they normally would, even though they are slow growers
