How long before a saratoga jardini usually become agressive? i want to get a 4-5 inch and put it in my 180 gallon (6x2x2) with my oscar, and what size before i need a bigger tank i am thinking of 96 x 30(wide) x 24(high).

at 4-5" they get aggressive already but depends on the fish really. and maybe when the jar is about 15-20" mark u should upgrade to a bigger tank.

Nearly the season to buy them here but quite expensive i may even get a leichardti depends on availability and which one i like the most.

I currently have a 15" or so in a 180 with an oscar among other things, no aggression. That isn't to say it works for everyone. In opinion 4-5" is too small to put in with a full grown oscar however, with such a size difference it's possible the oscar could actually kill the jardini. I know mine would have if I introduced them at that size.

Jardini can turn psycho for no reason at any time. It's a trial and error test with jardini aros. I have a monster(23" and 10lbs respectfully) in a 180g that tolerates tankmates.

Good luck and keep us posted,
Chris
