Hey guys..

I’m thinking about trying other stuff also to enhance my fishes growth..

I have heard the feeding fish sardine and squid does help grow fish fast and keep them healthy...Is that true?

They haven’t been pellet trained as yet but I want to grow them out a little before I pellet train them..

Has anyone had experience with growth when feeding fish Sardine or Squid??
Looking for personal experiences

TIA

Sorry I can't comment so much on sardine or squid specifically but I will advise that:
a) with many fish the longer you wait to try pellet training, the harder it will be. Imo best to start young as you can.
b) imho you'll get just as good if not better growth from feeding a good pellet (more balanced and fortified diet than any single seafood). That said for my carnivores I do feed a mixture of pellets and frozen shrimp, prawns, sea bass & pagnasius -- my Aros don't like squid, it's too rubbery/chewy; Aros prefer to gulp down food rather than chew it but of course I don't know what type of fish you are referring to as not mentioned in OP).

Also if you're looking for good growth there are other important factors not to forget, like tank size (and stocking levels), keeping tank/water clean, and even water temperature -- higher temps = high metabolism = more eating = faster growth (but there's a fine line to walk as too high of temps can increase chances of bacterial infections).

Sardines have thiaminase. It’s oily too.

Squid has been used regularly on the salt side but not completely sure the use on the freshwater side.

I’d say as long as it’s not a staple for the fish then it’ll be fine. Also in small amounts.
