I was thinking about getting a sargassum angler fish, and I've done my reasearch, but I was wondering if anyone has any advice from experience, or something that you wouldn't find in a book. Thanks!

Welcome to MFK, Sister! :FIREdevil

I have had two anglers. They are not that hard to keep. Just not with triggers or puffers because my pinktail killed one. And next they cant be exposed to air. Or they die. So you put the bag in the water and move him out with your hand so not much of the other water can get in your tank. good luck!

wow! ok, Thank you!

One of the main rules of anglers is do not overfeed them. feeding more than once to twice a week can lead to an early death. They are best kept alone, they will eat any fish that is not bigger than them, and bigger fish may pick on them. I keep what I balieve is a Antennarius commerson, but I cannot say for sure. I once put a peperment shrimp in with him and it was gone the next day. (and the frog fish had doubled in size) They are not hard fish to keep but they do have specialized care. Check out the frogfish forum at grimrefers.com for more information. Good luck with your angler.
