Hey,
after a few month I realized that the Myleus/Metynnis are stressing my S.mapiritensis out.
I´m keeping a fullgrown pair of those beautiful fish in 450 litres.
Now that I´m moving out I can get another tank (300l 120x50x50cm).
I´ve planned to keep Polypterus in there but since keeping the Satanoperca with Myleus/Metynnis isn´t that good for the fish I could keep the pair in the new tank.
But I´m not sure about the size because 120x50 isn´t that big for 2 fish measuring 20cm in length!
I think this option would be better than the actual situation. Satanoperca aren´t THAT active and bichirs should be pretty good tankmates because they won´t be as hectic as the Myleus/Metynnis are.
What do you think ?

Can't help much, but was curious to see if anyone commented. Have kept related Satanoperca, but not mapiritensis. Have never kept any polypterus, so no idea on compatibility. Other Satanoperca I'm familiar with have been reasonably active ime, plenty of cruising around and sand sifiting, so I'm thinking if yours are stressed maybe they're keeping a lower profile than they would otherwise.

The 300L tank I think would be on the small side but probably ok for the pair of mapiritensis, no idea on adding the polypterus to that tank, though.

Hey,
It would be ok to keep only the Satanoperca (maybe with my group Corydoras rabauti) in this tank.
I'm not keeping Polypterus at the moment.
I was just thinking about it before I realized that Myleus/Metynnis and Satanoperca in 450l won't work any longer.
But I really was not sure if 120x50 is enough for S.mapiritensis.
It would not be permanent anyway I'd keep them in 300l till I'm finally able to get the 200cm tank.
Well 150x50 isn't enough space for a 18cm Myleus, three 10cm Metynnis and two 20cm Satanoperca especially if the Satanoperca are stressed out that fast.

Well the Myleus rubripinnis is the reason why I'm still getting bigger tanks although I've already got 10 ;)
And that's because my cousin thought it'd be a great idea to buy "silver dollars" for her 80cm tank.
