I've recently developed a liking for this family of fishes.
Just wondering, which strain has the longest streamers?
How do they do in a community tank, with angels, corys, apistogramma's, etc?
Thanks.

daemon prolly have the longest streamers. they require pretty low pH though and some people find them hard to keep because of the water quality they need.

id recommend jurupari or leucostica. Satanoperca are pretty mellow, i've had a jurupari in a community tank for over a year and has done great. i just introduced 2 more jurupari and there is a little bit of picking on one another. i may add another one or two. the aggression is just with one another, not other fish.

they should be fine with the fish you listed. i've never kept them in that combonation. mine have been with datnoids, severums, EBJD, chocolate cichlid, H. psittacus, and G. brasilisnesis. never anything smaller than them though

Not sure who has the longest but they are all super peaceful. A guy at my lfs has two Daemon and keeps them in a 240g plant tank with neons and cardinals and he said they have never eaten any of the tetras!! Beautiful fish you are looking at!!!

i keep my jurupari with festivums angels barbs and tetras right now and all is fin they chase one another but thats it. after the move they will be in a biotope tank with lots of drift wood and jungle val and a few swords fish will consist of 3 jurupari ,3 festivums, 8 marble hatchets, gold nugget pleco and 3 emerald corry cats. awsome fish.

My geophagus jurupari did fine with angels.

I think either S. daemon or S. acuticeps would have the longest streamers ... but only when kept in super soft water.
