So... I have a Wild caught satanoperca sp. I bought as a Jurupari but idk any more as far as I know a real Jurupari is kind of dull in color but mine has alot of color. The reason why I want to know what sp he is, is because I want to do a sp only tank.
Here are some pics. Also maybe somone can sex him?

He is about 5" or so.

Thats why I am making a sp only tank want to get 4 more. About to change the substrate back to sand. For the last month I have had small black rock substrate. Say I go purchase 4 other but they are a diffrent sp of santanperca will they still school together?

I don't think so, and there could be some issues if they are very similar in shape and color, although they are generally VERY peaceful.

S. leucosticta and S. jurupari are quite easy to distinguish. Took a picture of them together a few days ago - jurupari on the left and leucosticta on the right.
