I have LED lights now on a 540 Gallon--Finnex. They're too bright, they're too white, etc. So I'm considering Satellite LED. Do I get Plus, or Pro? What I really want is the ability to adjust the brightness, the Lumen output of the fixture, as well as the color of the light, and have a timer, and maybe some saved lighting settings.

So, to be able to do that, do I get the Plus or the Pro? What's the "dual ramp" timer for? Do I NEED the dual ramp timer to control 2 fixtures? My tank is 96X44, I MIGHT end up with more than 2 fixtures, what then? There's no "triple ramp" timer for 3 fixtuers.

But the big question is, can I make the light more/less bright -- same color, just dimmer--with the Satellite LED+?

I have the plus cant say if its better than the pro but yes you can adjust the brightness and mess around with custom colors. Also has preset color options. Im using a 48 inch and 24 inch on 1 tank could probably get away with just the 48 but your tank ks way bigger than mine. Both fixtures can be controlled off of 1 remote. Hope this helps

What about a timer? what's the "ramp timer" for? can you just use a cheepo timer from home depot with them? or do you have to use the ramp timer current usa sells?

I use the timer , it allows you to do dusk/dawn settings , also the light comes on gradual and gets brighter , same when it turns off dimms down first before totally switching off. All of the other settings dimming lights , colours changes , storm settings etc can be set just by using the remote and programming in.
A 48" fixture does light my 180 up enough but my plants get missed in certain places so ive just bought another to help them along , without plants I think one fixture is fine tbh

Will a 48" and a 36" of the normal not plus ones run off of one of the dual ramps or the ramp pro? I am finding all kinds of misleading information, but it seems to be the case?

This is the one I use. I run 3 on my 10x4 I have them hooked to a neptune aquacontroller though. I love the adjustments on these lights. ive spent countless hours playing with them getting the lighting just the way I want
