Mine draws blood everytime he bites me. He is an evil bastard, but I love him. Lesson learned: Don't stick your hand in my Red Devil tank.

Mine is doing the same thing. Best thing to do is hold him off with one hand with the net (its the only thing that calms my boy down), and use the other hand with your python during water changes.

I know what you mean, sometimes if you dont pay attention, they will sneak towards your hand/arm and attack. If anything it startles me more then it hurts. But what's funny is, my guy will actually let me pet his head hump sometimes. Unless of course I put my finger to the tip if his nose. :grinno:

That's awesome man. I really wish Rapps would carry the juvi barred midas's tho. He's not even carrying them anymore. Just the sexed males and females. And sadly they are all a lil bit too big for my tastes. I guess I prefer to raise a juvie from a 1' baby to adult.

Here was my peach colored Rapp's Male Midas. I gave him to a friend and he is now in a 90 by himself. To be honest with ya tho, besides the body being a lil more muscular, the nuchal hump that gets bigger, and absense of the long snout, I still think Pure Midas cichlids don't really differ too much from the common Rd/Midas hybrid. Call me crazy I guess.
