save paint

I am detailing my saltwater shark pond. I have roofing wood lining the rim and want to pant black. I need brush on paint not spray. I am going to glue landscaping rock to the wood after but want any exposed wood to be black .

any exterior paint since it is only on the rim not under the water??......
