I went over my friends house today and we decided to get something to eat and then go over his friends house. We got to his friends house and I walk into his living room and I see a pretty decent looking 125 but look into the corner and see a 5 inch male salvini just sitting next to a rock. I take a closer look at him and he has a BAD case of HITH. So I ask him whats going on with the tank because all his other fish looked great he had a Grammode, Gold Saum and an Oscar in there and he said he bought it and it just started showing up. My thoughts were that the poor thing isn't getting any food because of the Oscar, Grammode and GS. Probably hasn't been getting proper nutrition. So anyways I ask him do you want it? he says no take it if you want. So I bag him up and take him home. He's in one of my 40 gallon tanks now and is an absolute pig stole all the other fish food. But he now controls almost half the tank and is relentlessly chasing away any intruders. Has some big psuedocanines too. He would look SUPERB if it weren't for the HITH. It should go away but he will still have scaring from the bacterial infection. I now have 4 salvini! YAY!

I hope you can get him doctored up! Good luck, and post some pics if you get a chance!

Awesome, sounds like stress and lake of nutrition was causing the HITH, hopefully it heals up a lot. Given the colour of Salvini, it should heal up and look acceptable. Most HITH scars you see are from Oscars, with their grey heads it's easily visible.

hope the fish gets better....and good thing you did there.

Nice I am a nandopsis nut, great fish. Great thing you did too I'm sure he'll be better in no time with wc's and some time to heal. Post some pics later if you can.

Ronnie to the Rescue!
and I thought you said all your tanks were full after i gave you a butt load of fish!

Good luck. That fish is lucky...It is in good hands now.
