Was at my lfs and a kid and his parents came in .i originally came just to browse around but I over hear the kid saying he wants the silver arowana (which is 1inch in a half give or take) to put in his goldfish bowl -________- <----- my face reaction .. Then he was like let's check the other side first so when they turned I notified the employee that ill take the arowana ... 42.25 later it is now in my 85 gallon long tank planted lol I'm not much of a silver fan but I love arowanas ..just sold my 12 inch jardini not to long ago and my scomb payara so heck guess ill take care of this guy til it out grows my tank ! Pics coming tomorrow !

good job mate. hope he has a healthy life in your tank. take some pics :D

Not judging, but it would have been better to educate the kid and his parents about how they would have been pissing money away as well as killing a fish.

+1, Have a hard time believing the parents were gonna spend 42 bucks instead of a 29 cent goldfish for this kids bowl. Sounds more like an excuse for buying a fish that you can't house properly. Well good luck finding a new home for this aro in a year, guess you can just dump it back at the LFS and let them worry about it, right?

Let us not start the criticism as general practice, ok?

Don't worry man, that's why bedrick is on my ignore list, this is how he always is, he always dumps on people, not sure if he feels better at the end of the day or what, sometimes however he is brutally honest where it is needed, and I can respect that, I just hate constant negativity!

Anyways, if you have had an aro in the past and succesfully cared for it, then rehomed it, I have faith in you, a juvy aro will be fine in a 85 for sometime. You have to understand how many times we see people make excuses for overstocking, it is not uncommon for members to just assume alternate motives, just keep up on tank maintainence and I'm sure all will be good.
