almost yanked my hair out today. i thought id do my fast growing male motoro a favor n pump him into the 150gal now since hes getting feisty in the lil 60gal hes been growing out in. he throws splashing tantrums whenever he's hungry or just bored. so i go to home depot, buy some nice play sand, rinse rinse rinse, put it all in the tank, everything settles, so i go net the motoro into a container, aclimate over a few hours, then eaze em in. everything looks cool, he never been in sand so he burry's him self. i figure he's cool so i take off with my friends. come home and i see a disc like object floatin around. yup, theres the motoro... i got angry, transfered it back to the 60, he floated around for a while, then tada, he's cool now. all within 10 hours.

my own stupidity. i wasn't paying attention cuz i do wc's on all my tanks on different days instead of all in 1 day. so i actually haven't done a wc on my 150 in over 3 weeks atleast, the new dat i tossed in had gotten cloudy eyes, the motoro started actin up. so im guessing high nitrates or nitrites. after i moved him i did a 50% wc on the tank, the tank seems fine now, so i may move the motoro back in like next week since he is recovered now.

glad you were able to save him!

I had scary results trying that playsand one time...don;t use it imo...use estes brand marine sand to be safe

ive used the same stuff before. for over 8 months straight, no issues.

it coulda been top swimming but it was curled upwards while doing it so the lower section was still kinda submerged but it was jus floating around like a life ring. he's doing great right now. im gonna do a few more water changes on my 150 before i put him back in again.
