A sequel to the "Shame or Proud" thread, this thread will further discuss the possibility of saving dats. Whatever this discussion leads to, please no arguing among ourselves, i remember theres a quote saying" all gun barrels aims outside not inside" meaning we should focus on our goal instead of fight among ourself
so...
Datnoids' population is rapidly declining in the wild. The ornamental fish trade seems like they are taking these fish from the wild for granted. Selling them as if they were farm bred tetras for as low as $4USD each. Excessive collecting is not the only reason why datnoids are disappearing. Overfishing, pollution, and habitat loss, they all contributes to datnoids' fate. Don't you think we can do something about that?
what can we do?
- do it the natural way
or
- do it the biotechnological way
what we need?
-for natural way
~info from their habitat
~breeding behavior
~sexing info
~perfect recreation of their habitat
~all these would require a bit of studying at their natural habitat
-for in the lab
~lots of equipments
~people who knows how to acquire and fertilize egg
~both of these would require financial support...
so... what do you guys think?
spread the words.
oh and visit/contribute to this blog http://savedat.blogspot.com/ so people from outside of MFK can know whats going on. And feel free to watch the "promotional video" I tried hard at making : )
You know you want to change the world. You know you want to do something meaningful in life. You know you want to save these dats from going extinct. So lets get started, shall we? : )
