In the caiman den
I was leaving for court this morning when I saw the most bittersweet thing. As I exited my home, I noticed a dove quickly crossing my path. The dove hopped around, wings out bobbing its head. It would flutter but 1 to 2 feet off the ground then fall back, all the while watching me and looking to be on deaths door. Puzzled on what could have injured this bird, I peered to my left. There on the ground sat another dove and beside it, a yearling dove, hiding in some taller grass. I stared for a moment, puzzled on why there was an injured dove to my right but only a yearling and adult dove to my left with no other predators around. A quick glace to my right revealed the injured dove still doing this same motion, albeit farther away and still going to my right. Suddenly I noticed another dove fly infront of me and instantly begin to do the same thing as the first. Glacing back twords the adult and yearling, I noticed only the young one sat there, trying his best to hide amoungst the grass. Mom and Dad where trying to seem wounded to lead me away from their baby. I smiled, enjoying the sight but couldnt help but feel a tinge of sadness. Even a bird is a better parent than my ex wife.

And yes for those wondering, this is 100% true and happened today.

HA!
