Just wondering how the Short body Flowerhorn is created. Or any fish that is bred to have a short body.. like what crosses etc?

I think i have said this before. You get a short bodied aka Bonsai flowerhorn By inbreeding off sping example.

1.F0 + F0
2. F1 + F1
3.F2 + F2

and so on so fourth Hope you found thins useful. If am correnct you had a flowerhorn X REd tiger mota right any updates?

how long is he he looks like hes getting old to me or is it just the pic because zz strains as they get old their fins start drooping down. hes a stunner i say. But yea he does look like a short bodied ill check to see if bonsai are indeed short bodies. Ill get back to you tomarow or when i find out :).

Actually he's not old at all.. he's Very young still!! yeah it's probably the pic that made his fins look the way it is. But he's a Short body Kamaulau Flowerhorn!

IMO it is a shortbodied FH. The bonsai that I have has smilarities to a parrots shape.

Thats what originally thought of a bonsai too.

This is what I thought was the difference:

1st pic is of a "short bodied red dragon"

2nd pic is of a "bonsai red dragon"

To me there is a distinct difference but correct me if i'm wrong.

well Bonsai have no parrot in them from what i have heard of breeders them selvs. Now that i think about it short bodys dont seem to be bonsai because most flowerhorn breeders seek not long bodys. just hypothetical Bonsai are deformed with a curved spine. And short bodys are bred to shorten their bodys. Who knows still waiteing for a respone from knowlagable people on another forum. ;0

Yeah.... But i would like to know what they cross with or how they get the short body. i think its pretty cool!
