Hi i was just wondering who else on this site is a SCA member.
I am not a member yet but i am saving so that i can join anyway i am thinking of having a celtic personna and my weapon i want to have a long sword i was told that it is perfectly legal as long as it is made of rattans cane and it's got padding. I choose the long sword because i have always wanted to learn i found a couple of good sites so yer.
Show off your weapon why did you choose it show your armour and what clothes do you wear i am still looking around so yer.

I have a friend that really gets into this stuff. He goes to meets like every other weekend. Has amazing swords and chainmail and shields. I think its very impressive.

I have always wanted to join but my confidence was'nt as high as it used to be now i am crazy and i don't care what people think but most SCA members are a little crazy i just really want to join fun stuff i am going to ask my step uncle to make the long sword for me hopefully he saids yes but we still getting used to each other but yer some of the armour is cool i am kinda pissed off i should of checked the site because this sunday they are having a tourament but yer great stuff i am practing at the moment.

I'm in the SCA. Can't use heavy weapons due to a shoulder injury. I still try archery and recreating old methods of home brewing. I would really like to get into seigecraft production though. The nieghbors would love to see a catapult in the backyard! Maybe then they'll keep the music down!
How big is the SCA down under?

At the momet i can't join i need a job so i can get a car at the momet i am practicing with a longsword it is big all over Australia i thought SCA was small but it is international.

I am a part of the SCA, you don't have to be a paid member to 'play' (though it is encouraged) I am currently packing my bags to travel to Rowany (Australia's biggest SCA event) I do archery (target and combat) and rapier.

I'm part of a weird group that covers archaic upper paleolithic re-enactment (Sometimes) and demonstrations. Lots of fun.... Specialize in Atlatl marksmanship, flintknapping, bone tool making and butchering techniques using bone and stone tools.

It is Great to connect with your inner primitive self....
