Scale colors of yellow-tail aro baby

So what are the common color of their scales? When I bought mine it looks pearl like. It's slightly larger now and today I noticed these different colors on the scale levels (aquarium not lighted and at back porch):

6th level: dark, greyish.
5th level: grey-pearl
4th level: blue
3rd level: green-turning-blue
1st & 2nd level: yellow/pearl.

Is this normal? Can't take a pic of the fella. Never stay in one spot.

color will change as their grow bigger, as baby there is not much color or even true color come out. The true color will come out after it hit 12-15" depending on the fish, but some aro color really show in bigger size.

All young asian arowana don't have that much colour, but as they grow there colour will get better. You can watch it improve from the edge of the scales, and have that band slowly get bigger, and more colourful. it is fun to watch them improve as they grow.
