No pictures and i know what to do, so i suppose I'm just venting. woke up this morning to an RTG with 3 scales missing. @ on its back, Just behind its head plate and one about 5 scales further back. None of them are goldies but it looks ugly. needless to say salt has been added. My fish is about 20 inches long, how long for them to grow back, and whill they look the same? I was starting to think about tradeing it in on an SR but i guess that'll have to wait now.

it prob take around 4 month for the full scale too heal but it depends on the water quality and amount of diet

idk if asians are diff from silvers in regeration but my silver has lost some scales and took 3 weeks to regrow them and they looked the same as before...

their age also affects the healing rate plus silvers at 20" can be 1 year old and asians at 20" can be 2 years old or little older

If your aro is about 20" than it will take about 2 months for the scales to fully grow back and it is going to take around 2 months more for new scales to match it color with other scales.

months...?? are you guys sure?? it only too a week for them to grow back for my jardini. just keep you water clean, it's not a HUGE deal.

guys! size dont matter its age!and i know his water is good so no need to ask lol but im guessing his aro is 2 years old

Yes, it's about 2 years old and yes, you are right Hao I keep the water good. Looks nasty as the moment, TBH i am expecting to wake up and see DE because it has bashed its head on something. I'm hoping it was just the inlet pipe so it would be more of a scrape that blunt force bash.

It was chasing ghost shrimp i put in the tank for my NTT.

oh your aro wont get DE unless it smashed real hard like bloody wound on the head otherwise scratches wouldnt really give it DE
