just wondering if anyone uses these just to add more veriety to there rays diet?

just went into farmfoods tonight for the mussel and prawn, they do frozen scallops and white fish fillets (pollock). should i bother trying them.

Don't know bout pollock, but my rays love Tilapia. I use only frozen products that are
labeled as freshwater though. Even the Prawns I buy are pond raised in freshwater.

From my experience, it is hit or miss. Every ray is different and will take different food. I normally feed shrimp and the occassional earthworm. I tried smelt, scallops and tilapia, they did not like it at all. I also tried squid, they don't take it right away. But they do evetually eat it.

I had a smaller female marble, she would eat shrimp. But she would go crazy for krill. The only thing that I know is that, I have not had a ray that would turn down earthworms.

Everyone will have different experiences. But I like the idea of feeding a normal diet and then ever so often changing it up abit. All you can do is try, but don't try once and give up. It may take a couple of tries before they take it. Worse case, your a few bucks.

My rays seemed to love scallops and out of all the many fish fillets i have tried sole seems to be there favorite.

I fed my motoros scallops.
