this is probably a dumb question but to get any decent scaping done in a 36” tall tank I imagine you have to drain it down some and get on in? If anybody has any other thoughts I’m open for suggestions!

I like to hang decor from the top and build down. Heres my latest reshuffling of my hex tank.
I also have a collection of makeshift tools rigged up from wooden dowels and various implements to deal with the height. Not exactly pretty but gets the job done.

Hang one of your children by their ankles and have them scape if you have any 
Use long items like dried pieces of bamboo, or suspend driftwood covered with any anubias halfway down the tank using fishing line
