Hey all, just wanting some ideas on how you would scape an 8'x65" tank that will house the big bichirs (lowers jaws plus ornate) along with 3 Arowana, an Oscar and a Dat? I hate bare bottom tanks, and want somewhere the bichirs can feel safe while keeping the Arowana safe. I was thinking a rock island in the center, but eventually a Bichir Bichir or Congnicious won't be able to do much there. Open to all ideas, and photos are even better!

Floating plants for the suface, for back ground why not go for either a fossil theme, or carve a piece of slab of thin rock?

I have large Mopani wood in my tank and some large Weco plastic plants

Couple of big rock piles and some big pieces of wood. More barren and lack of foliage.

Big fish = less scaping.

A few big rocks and maybe some lower smaller pieces of dw.

I wouldnt do the common dw/caves/hides and lots of plants for a few reasons. When the polys get spooked the can cause damage smashing into the dw. More hides create more territories to fight over.

I only had large rocks/smallish boulders with some fake plants in my 300 before i added the cats.
