I'm in the process of setting up my first mbuna tank. The tank will have small mbuna 10-12cm max size. I have more than a 5gal bucket of granite rocks from other tanks that I want to use as a rock pile in the center of the tank and I'm thinking some PVC hidden in the rock would be a good way to make secure caves in the rock pile. Any suggestions as to diameter and length of the PVC caves? I've never had mbuna before and not sure if they prefer tight caves or room to move around.
Thanks.

Its a 40g breeder, 36x18 so I'm thinking single species with 1 male and 4 females. Just bought the tank and built the stand today so im a week or two out from putting water in the tank. I have a fluval205 and ac70 running on other tanks that I'm going to move over once stocked. I haven't researched species yet, 4/22 is the next gcca swap meet so I plan on making a list and hit the swap meet before going to a lfs or ordering online.
