wasn't satisfied with the design, so i redid the scape and added gravel. added what i didn't know was red gravel by accident:irked: will have to get some natural pebbles tmr, fern up the place, replace the pink light and add primitive fish:)

Nice ones xander, what's the gar under the afro aro on the left? And is the fat one a gator? I know it's an A. species...

looks good. i wouldn't mess with it any more...with any well-functioning gar tank, less is more in terms of tank decor. you want to provide as much area in the water column and on the bottom that is free from obstruction. again, looks good now...no need to tinker with it too much!--

thanks! i wasn't gonna mess w anymore wood really, just wanted more natural looking substrate. maybe a little bit of plants. i've noticed they don't like wood too much either. will keep this thread updated:)

Wow, gator? The pattern on him is really cool.

Yeah, seems like too much structure would just be in their way. I have one piece in my tank but it's more of a long, low piece...my Florida actually seems to like it, he usually lays/rests right up against it.
