Does anyone have one? I have an empty 55 It looks like a cool P. What kind of attitude? Feeding ? Active or not ? I currently have a RHOM ,spilo, and 7 pygos. I have the sickness and I'm looking for my next fix! Thank You :grinyes:

Acts exactly like a spilopleura. You want something interesting in terms of a solitary fish, grab yourself an elongatus. The one I used to have was a beast. Very aggressive, not a fussy eater (mine ate pellets), and very active. Make sure you throw a powerhead in there for a little bit of current through, they tend to love the current (at least the river varents do, the lake ones don't, and I can't remember how to tell lake from river).

Gonna need a big tank for elongatus.

Not necessarily, I had one about 7" in my 55 that was fine for years before I had to upgrade him to my 75. Just current and hiding places. They are extreme ambush predators, so don't require as much space as people might think.
That is nice to know, I have only seen ythem for sale in the 8-10" range and have been told they nee a 100g, It is one reason I never bought one, seems a waste to use a tank that size for just one fish,

I can't go any bigger than 4' I'm out of room my wife has been very patient I don't want to push it all of her end tables and lamps are in the garage. Thanks for the posts.

most rhombeus seem to have a pretty aggressive attitude but it really all depends on the fish itself not the species that makes the attitude but the fish itself......all rhombeus are slow growers so if you are limited on space you could get a good size one and it would stay that way for awhile
