Hey y'all

I was wondering if there are any successful ways to get a few of my fish that are scared of me to not be scared. My fire mouth is the boss of the tank, but also runs whenever I come. The other fish are generally fine but I feel like they are getting influenced by the fire mouth.

Thanks

I had a fire mouth before and gave him to a friend because it was too aggressive try separating him from the other fish if possible and just give them time to adjust to the tank

Some things that can cause fish to be more skittish, are bright light (often they prefer more dim light), lack of decor in the upper reaches (they love floating/overhanging plants), busy areas in the house where people are walking fast. Also, FM's tend to do better and be more outgoing in a group of their own kind. But, they can still do fine as a solo FM or with other cichlids. And I think you are right that if he is the tank boss and not doing much damage, that is a good thing.
