Just curious what anyone thinks about this. I have a Red Snook and a Peacock Bass i just acquired. The snook chases him around everywhere! they are only about 2in. big right now and in my 258 gallon tank. I dont understand what the problem is here..... I was thinking about rearranging the wood because the snook was in there a couple days before i put the bass in. I thought Bass where medium aggressiveness? Maybe he needs to grow? I need to put the snook in time out? I'd add pix but i havent uploaded yet... will soon!

Well you answered part of it.. The snook was in there a few days before the peacock. I am not sure on the agressiveness of snook but I think midly the only experience I had was with a breeding pair at a pet store that were super agro. You should think about adding some other fish. Is it just those two in the 258 gallon?

Peacock Bass are usually not agressive at all. If ever they are aggressive, it is to their own kind. I say put the snook in another tank for the mean time and let the peacock get used to the tank first. Reintroduce the snook a few days later.

Will do.... better get out my fishing pole.... lol.... I have the following

Godzilla newt x1
Peacock Bass x1
Red Snook x1
Ripsaw Catfish x1
Fire eel x1
payara x1

Its weird..... the payara is the smallest of them all and no one messes with him.... very skiddish fish..... i don't understand.... I will take the snook out for a few days.... will this fish be to mean for this tank you think?

only one peacock? if so get like 2 or 3 more..... there spookey for about a month... then they start to ome around.... its a common problem. for the pics... i wouldliek to see some so resize them to about 600x450 pixels and save as jpeg... and save to desktop and then just up load... :) if you have more problems just PM i will answer any questions you may have so please do so!

Cichla are very skittish when young. I would take the peacock out and place in a smaller tank where you can feed him up to get maximum growth.

yea....but there going to be skittish in a small tank too i had thern in a 30 gallon and took over a month... buy a few more and you should be ok....

From what I experienced my juvie cichla were more comfortable when kept in smaller tanks. I would grow them up in there because it was easier and then transfer them to my bigger tank.

had my guys in a 30 gallon and moved them to a bigger tank cause they were spookey.. same thing got a lil better... same thing.... hey steve not on the other forum anymore ;)
