I recently bought a FH and threw her into a 55 gallon I had set u with a black background and earth colored gravel. I realized that for the best looking FH possible I should move the fish to a 38 gallon that I have with red gravel and a red background. Before the move the fish was active would approuch the tank when i would walk by and was wating like a mad woman. Since the move the FH hasn't eaten at all and hides at the top of the take laying sideways. The water is fine and has been tested, I'm guessing the move gave her the jitters. Suggestions on how to get her back to her happy self?

Put her back in the other tank. If water parameters are fine check your water for an electrical current from heaters etc.

My hand has been in the tank several times to get uneaten food she hasn't touched and I felt nothing. I'm thinking it could be because she is now near a doorway with the tank sitting sideways towards the door. Before she was facing a doorway?

give her some target fish that she could beat up...that might get her back into action...did you do a full water check all the tests???
and you could also try a water change...idk sounds bad good luck

I did do a water test and everything is cool. I think it's the fact she was in a tank facing the front door and now she is in a tank close to the door that is facing inward. I'm now on day 4 with no eating?

Yes your location of the tank can have an effect in their mood and how they will react to it. Changing the color of your gravels/background may also effect them as well. Keep flowerhorn happy, not yourself happy. They will kill themselves...LOL.

@ Big One
I moved the Flowerhorn because people on the forum advised that she would be best in a tank with a bright back round and a clown colored gravel.
