Figure this is just a Variant of Argus but wanted to see if anyone has come across this variant or if its just a luck of the draw?

that is an awesome fish is it in brackish water or fresh,I have green,Ruby, silver scats but none of them have coloration like your.My salinity is 10 or between 1.004 and 1.008 what is yours with those cat fish.

The pattern seems to coincide with those of other silver scats maintained in freshwater.

A member named Peckoltia posted some of his FW maintained Scatophagus argus. Which seems to be where you found your pic, too.

These are others from the 'net that are said to have been raised in high alkaline freshwater:

Thanks for the replies. I guess I will find out if its freshwater related. As my water is over 8+ PH, extremely hard and alkaline right out of tap.
I have quite a few reds, greens and silvers. No Tigers as I am not interested in paying 300+ for a scat.
