I have four Scats. The two largest (6" and 7") have developed pink spots between their upper lips and nostrils. I can find no other signs of any illness or distress. Additional tank mates are:
2 8" columbian catfish sharks
1 Malawi Blue Crab
2 Monodactylus
2 2.5" red scat
1 7" Dat
1 rogue firemouth
Does this look like a bacterial infection? How should I best treat? Can/should I treat the tank? Can I use Purigen while treating (trying to clear tannins from wood)? I was also planning on adding a UV sterilizer. Amonia and Nitrites are clear. PH is 7.8. Appetites are good.

The color isn't great in these pics. Unfortunately what doesn't show is the bright pink color of the sores above the lips. (and the unfortunate presence of brown algae on the back glass).
