so i drove 6 hrs away to pick up 2 new FW rays today adn i told my little brother iw ould bring him back a kewl new fish... so i find an LFS in michigan and found scats and they dont have them where i live... and i got a peacock golby and i was told they were freshwater and could go in together in a small set up... so this is for my six yr old little brother is it ok to leave the scat freshwater if not can i just put like aquarium salt in it and if so will it be ok for the golby? and there is a kuhli loach in that tank also? grr why would you tell me they are fresh water and i come hom elook them up so i can buy what they eat and find out they are brackish..

Because all the LFS cares about is $$$. They don't give a damn what you do with the fish once they hear the CHA-CHING of their register.

so will the fish be ok in freshwater if thats what he was in and if not can i just throw in some aqaurium salt like 1 tbs per gallon?

much better off in brackish...they would thrive in a brackish set up.

The goby might eat the kuhli.

we have a scat that we bought from a brackish tank, and he is in freshwater now, the way i was told is that a scat is born fresh water and somewhere, where the rivers meet the ocean (hence brackish) anyway they told me that any fish that is born in fresh can go back to fresh but they would much prefer the salt but he's been in my tank 2 months now and doin great! i did a 4 hour acclamation with him and like i said he seems great good luck!
