what kind of scavenger fish can i put with a 3" oscar and a 3" JD, and about 6" black leopard eel?
something that stays about 4" and will school, and be fast enough to not get ate when the eel, jd, and oscar get bigger.

55g, i would want about 3 or 4 of them

If it was over 55 say like 75-90 I'd say a group of Geos.

i just really want something to clean up after the oscar.
the fish doesn't really have to live for life with the oscar, i can always move it once the oscar/jd get too big and might eat it.

well from my experience. if you just had oscars and jack dempseys. corrys have worked for me and clown loaches. although i only have one oscar and one jack dempsey in an 85 gallon tank. so the space and them being feed well might have a facter in why they arnt tyring to eat them. also iv used striped raphael catfish in my FH's tank it works. but yeah i would get eather anuther 55 or bigger to give your fish some breathing room. well i hope this helps.

i have read clown loaches get 45 inches? :o
well im going to be building a 120g+ tank with my dad :D.
hopefully sometime soon, so when my oscar gets huge he can have a new home.
and i guess it took a while but my eel is now active and cleans the bottom pretty good. but some aggression brought up a new question..

would getting a smaller fish, that is fast (just one), for a while to maybe lure the oscar and jack to attack that instead of my plec and even each other (only sometimes), help lower aggression?

umm well my oscar and JD are pritty nice to the other fish in the tank. the only fish they go after are the feeders. but the bigger tank should help them not attack the pleco and the others. so they will have turf that wont be so close to the other fish.

Cory cats are too small and defenseless for a tank like that, they'll eventually just all be picked off.

Clean up crew I like are:

Clown loaches
Synodontis catfish
any Polyterus
a fancy pleco
live bearing snails (not good with Clown loaches)
