i have about a 5-6 inch red devil in a 65 gallon tank and i am looking something to go in there as scavenger/dithers to help keep the waste food cleaned up,well i had 4 little africans in there cause they stay toward the bottom and they are really fast so i thought they would work great:shakehead no such chance, for the last 2 mornings i have found one each morning that looks like he got hit by a mack truck, i guess even though there is good hiding places that the devil is still to smart for them.:raspberry so is there anything that will work with this guy as a scavenger or is his only suitable tank mate rocks and wood:feedback:

Use gravel vacuum and feed your fish sparingly. With a fish like red devil, the possibility of even catfishes surviving for a long time is slim.

exactly, just do more gravel vaccuuming, that will solve that problem, because in a tank that size it will be hard to find what you're looking for
