schooling fish for 55 gal

I have a 55 gal with a mosiac gar , 2 pitcus catfish, a convict and a pair of t. sydnare. I am looking for a schooling fish that doesn't get huge and will not get picked off , i tried congo tetras and that got picked off, so i am open for any suggestion and i do not think the mosiac gar is the one picking them off , as he is to small for that , i believe the t. sydnare is doing it. any suggestions

unless its big... anything you put in there is going to get eaten...

there are many fish that will school and not get eaten, but will get too big for a 55, like tinfoil barbs and silver dollars

i was thinking something more robust like black skirt tetras or counterfiet tetras
