schooling fish

I am setting up a new tank..
It is 30gal tank, i need some schooling fish.. what do you advise?
apparently, i dont want them to make alot of waste as i will be adding some
plant in there...
I might only be able to do the waterchange once a month..

if you are only gonna do water changes once a month, then I would suggest a few zebra danios

white cloud minnows are hardy and tolerate anything, even prefer cooler water

Cardinals are the ultimate schooling fish as far as I am concerned. I used to have a school of 30 in my 125 and they were just awesome to watch. In a 30 you won't get much opportunity to enjoy schooling behavior since it is rather small.

Rainbow fish - there are many varieties and many different sizes. You will want to get at least 6 - 9. They will need weekly water changes. Buy a Python and it will only take 10 minutes per week.

Try this one Pareutropius buffei, it's the best schooling fish I know and it's a catfish which makes it ten times as good as any other fish.
