i want to add 2 or 3 different species of small schooling fish to my 180 containing 2 blood parrots, gibby pleco, and giraffe cat. i know i want some tiger barbs, say 10-15 of em, but am clueless as to some other small schooling fish i could add. i really want to capture the true scooling behavior, and with some color would be nice.

anybody have any ideas?

Other barbs , Danios , large tetras

I have a dozen Congo Tetras that school real well.

congo tetras are way active

thats mine eating flakes in my 55.. they are also super wafer stealers.. they love everything i have ever fed them (flakes, sinking/floating wafers/pellets, bloodworms, beefheart, brineshrimp, raw shrimp, ritz crackers)
the crappy cellphone video does not do them justice.. they get about 3-4 inches so they are not big but not tiny either.. always schooling always on the move....
they like soft water but are not delicate so missing a waterchange will not leave you with a bunch of dead fish....
mine almost never go to the bottom of the tank unless they are stealing wafers

i would go with rosy barbs. great color plus a little more size than the tiger barbs. as previously mentioned congo tetras would be a great choice too.

I've always liked Buenos Aires tetras, they get decently sized for tetras, and are not bad to look at
