So I've been sitting on this theory for the longest time now. I honestly believe the Scleropages inscriptus or batik Arowana is a jardini crossbreed with an Asian Arowana. Their pattern is very similar to the patterns found on a Gill plate of a jardini. There hasn't been much info on this new species. I feel like it's a breeding project kept in the dark to fetch high dollars for the Arowana market. I would love to learn more about this species. Would be awesome if any fellow member share their personal knowledge on this fish.

The "discovery" of the inscriptus is detailed in the book "The dragon behind the glass" I don't believe it to be a hybrid, to me the face and scale pattern is not similar to a Jardini.

Keep in mind the specie was only described around 2012, and are found in areas not easily accessible or frequented by scientist, which may account for a lack of data.

The book is available on Amazon, there's a kindle version as well.
