I was with my dad yesterday on my way to my Uncle's house, when on the side of the road i saw a Blue plastic retangle poly-tote that said "35.00 each". So i quickly told my dad to pull over and check it out becuase i've been on the hunt for one for awhile now. So we pulled over and took a look at it, liked what we saw and called the number on the for-sale sign. Called the guy up and turns out he has 5 of them! so i made a deal with him, all 5 for 125.00 ( The tanks are 5x4x2, roughly 300 gallons), which is 25.00 each. now these are 750.00 poly tanks. so i was estatic. wen't over to the guy's house turns out he had 4 5x4x2 and one 4 1/2 x 3'. but i was still happy, i can make the smaller one into a sump or some type of filter. loaded them in the truck and went on my way. So here is where the bumps in the road began, on my way home my dad said "I don't like the way i tied them down, the strap was alittle loose", and not 4 seconds after he said that, we heard a "thunk" of the tanks falling out of the bed of the pick-up... in the middle of an intersection.. now keep in mind I have a broken hand, and my dad recently had shoulder surgery. now these tanks arent heavy by themselves, but we had to stack them in the truck to get them to fit, so they all stuck together. So they were a couple hundred pounds. So we pulled over, managed to slide them out of the intersection and on the side of the road, blocking traffic the whole time, luckily a friend of ours happened to see all this and pulled over to help us. We manged to get them in the truck and strapped them down TIGHTLY. So we finally got them home almost safe and sound, the fall off the truck scratched the bottoms but nothing major. But after all that, i'm still happy on the price
These will make perfect tanks for rays in which i hope to keep in the near future. I'll take a pic. of them tomorrow, the guy used them to give his dogs and bath.
