I've been looking for one of these forever! The only ones I've found were the size of my pinky fingernail and were EXPENSIVE. I found this guy at Petland for $24.99. He's like 4"! I couldn't get the guy to bag it up fast enough. I love it!!!

I know there are different types of Calvus...so what kind is it?

That is a good price! Nice pickup! I don't know what varity that one is, but I was at something fishy, in ohio and at the time I did not know what it was at the time, so I asked the guy, he told me, then I asked how much and then he started laughing and goes those are in the 100 dollar range.

he is a yellow calvus it a really rare or not very common calvus.. i have a pair of those for year and 1/2 and are at the 2'' and 2 1/4'' range..:irked:
 
Nice pick up. I would say that yours is Altolamprologus calvus (Chisanse). THere are two yellows. Yours looks most like that one... Now they are all the same fish, just different locations (colors). Yellow not rare, but uncommon yes...

Sorry but 100 dollars is nuts. 30-50 on the high end... Maybe I am spoiled, but 100 bucks is way too much...
 
yea nice pick up!but about that$100 calvus....was there a PAIR?I kNOw A guy there he works therethey get wilds and pairS so it could be that.....they get their wild imports from atlantis
 
Who knows, this was many months back, I didn't ask further questions after hearing that price, as its out of my budget. Next time I'm there I could ask if they remember/further details, but I doubt that will be before I head back to pa for school, as I'm usually not in that area and they have odd hours.
 
real nice looking fishy ya got there, I had a similar one that didn't make it. A shame too, he was one of my favs.
