So my wifes Aunt has this new boyfriend well we went over there to play cards and I noticed this aquarium collecting dust in his basement. I just saw it from the top of the stairs didnt really know how big or what he had with it, but I asked him if he wanted to sell it. he had to ask his son who moved to Hawaii 3 years ago. Well, I forgot about it, but when I got home today there it was sitting in my dining room. My wife got it off the guy for $200. Its a oceanic 58 with stand, 130 watt compact flourecent, 65 watt flourecent, (brand new replacement bulbs for both) mag 350, and a bunch of other odds and ends.
Everything like brand new the kid bought it had it running for about 3 months and then moved to Hawaii. SWEET!!

No offense, but that's not a great deal for a used 58 gallon. You didn't get ripped off, but I'm sure the guy would have taken say 100.

That sounds like it had close to 200 in just lighting to me..... IDK but I think it is a good deal. I would never buy it but that is just because I don't want a tank that small.

I didn't take too much notice of the lighting, as I like my tanks dimly lit, I only really read the tank size and filtration

being that the extra bulbs will run you over $100 I would say its a great deal. Its got enough light to grow a forrest

Like I said I don't really take any notice of lighting, on my tanks I simply have 1 standard flourescent light.

I guess the reason it didn't strike me as an amazing deal is I got my 190 with stand, canopy, light, external filter for £70 which is about $135.
