I picked up two free 55G tanks just up the road and it's Friday - Life is good.
My neighbor is a sort of junk dealer and so people are always giving him free stuff. One of the local Christmas Tree farmers stopped by and told him that he had a couple "big" fish tanks with a free-sign on them in front of his house. When I got this information I was in my car in less than thirty seconds.
The cool part is that it was just a mile or so up the road. The tanks are dirty (one had chicken feathers in it) but the silicone actually doesn't look bad. Once I get them cleaned up I am going to give them a test fill in the driveway, and see. The stand is a plywood DIY job. Nothing fancy, but it stacks both tanks.
I am still trying to decide whether to hang onto the tanks or clean and reseal, then sell or trade them.
