Tomorrow I'm picking up an almost new 100g setup! Woohoo! I'd love to hear stocking suggestions. It's a 60x18 footprint.

I'm definitely putting my 4" male convict in it, and would like to keep all males and hopefully keep it peaceful. My con has never caused any trouble to other fish. The seller is giving me a 5" JD with the setup but if he's too aggro I might trade him in at the LFS.

I was thinking if all fish get along I could try:
- male con
- male JD
- male FM
- male GT

If these guys get along well, it'd be nice to add another con or two just because I want one of every morph. :-) What do you all think?

Also, I'm planning to decorate it with lots of driftwood and fake plants, so there's lots of hideaway spots.

(And before you all suggest a big glassbanger, I've already got another tank devoted to one. :-) I was hoping to get more of a community feel with this setup.)

that stock sounds fine. even with the extra cons. try it GL

don't get rid of the jd I just picked up a large JD today and he is already one of my favourite fish I own + their colour will make a good addition to your aquarium
also consider getting an oscar because or their personality and oscars will be pretty tolerant of your stock

Should be fine. Keep the jack. The only problem you might have is the FM getting beaten on a bit but if you have lots of cover it might be alright. If it doesn't seem to be working out you could probably replace the FM with something a bit more robust like a Tex. And as I'm sure you know, if you do decide to add more cons make sure they're male.

Thank you all for the suggestions. My tank will be home tomorrow. I'm so excited to finally set up a community of males!

The seller told me the JD is good looking and still has a lot of growing to do. My main issue is finding the kind of driftwood I want-- our local selection is pretty poor.

Thanks again for the help and I'll update with pics as everything is set up.
