Scored both of 'em for FREE ^^ Petco isn't all bad

went to petco to get some dog food, but i just couldn't help to go see the fish section. they usually carry small size fishes, but there they were, these big guys were in one of the tank. i asked the guy how much they were, he told me he had no idea. after he checked w/other people, he told me they're all free because someone gave these fish to 'em and petco doesn't resell those fishes. SCORE!!
o, and can some1 id the cichlid for me?

Cichlid is a jack dempsey, where are you keeping these two? Jack Dempsey will usually bully smaller cichlids and eat most fish that are small enough to swallow so be wary! Nice pickup btw!

i have 'em in my 125g, and all the other fishes are about the same size as the jack which is about 6". i have a jar @ 12", 2 big red hooks, 2 dats @ 6" & 5", and a green terror @ 6". the jack took that spot beneath the fake sword plant in the corner of the tank, where the green terror used to hang around, and made it it's own. besides not allow any transpassing, the jack gets along pretty well.
