Scored my self a 120 Gal tank off Ebay for £250.00 comes with custom wooden stand not my taste but will go great with my mums dinning table and a few odd ends for the tank which i think/ geuss is a small inturnal filter , heater , air pump as want i can see in the picture .

Picking it up tomorrow , but i do have one little question which is if i put my Fx5 on it for now which is on my other 120 Gal tank can i put any fish Ie, a Silver Awo' in the tank in a couple of days of doing that and then getting a new Exturnal filter and putting that on it and let it cycle for a couple of weeks then take the Fx5 off it could i put a Silver Awo' in the tank safely or should i wait a few more weeks to let the new filter to cycle more before taking the Fx5 off ?

Congrats on the tank! I would say you should take about close to 50% of the water from your current tank to put it in the new tank along with the already cycled FX5. That way it would be safer for your fish that you want to transfer! I would also recommend you still do the Acclimation process for the fish.

Ok thanks ,

What about putting a new filter on the tank ?

Nice looking footprint on that tall 150. That opens up the door for all kinds of cool fish. Congratz on the PU.

It is discribed as a 4x2x2 Foot tank made from 15mm toughened glass with a custom stand and Lid .

The tank will be a grow out tank for a Silver Awo' which will end up going in the 470Gal tank which i hope to get in a couple of weeks and then my mum and dad want this tank to be a Malawi Cichlid tank . but i do have my current 120Gal which will be empty after i put my fish into the 470Gal tank , which i am not sure what to put in there , i was thinking a Acara and Severum tank along with a large school of Clown loaches . But I am not sure yet .

Bump !

Should i leave the Fx5 on the tank a few weeks atfer putting a new filter on so it gives the new filter a chance to cycle probily ? and will it be ok to put a 6inch Silver Awo' in the tank straight away ?

I agree with that - this is what I do when I need a tank asap and cant wait for a tank to cycle.

Congrats on the new pick up =]

I have "cycled" tanks a couple of times in this manner. I would allow the fx5 to run on the tank for a few weeks to give the BB a decent chance to colonize the new filter's media. You will need ammonia and nitrite to feed the bacteria to help in colonization so you will need a bio load, or just add ammonia to the tank. Most of the bacteria lives in the filter and a very small amount is free swimming, I wouldnt worry about the 50% of "cycled" water. Hope this helps.
