I decided to make a display case for some of my scorpions. I have 2 emperors right now and im getting a few other species from a local collector.

The glass was cut to size at the local Lowes but i had to trim the center pieces down 1/4" to compensate for the thickness of the sides.

Despite the semi professional cuts most pieces were slightly off, PM me if your ever doing something like this for the first time I have some good tips for you.

As you can tell by the caulking job this was my first attempt at anything like this.. but I think it came out decent.

After I put the camera away I added a single piece of glass as the top too the whole setup. I plan on drilling a series of holes in the sides for ventilation.

I did the sides and bottom first, letting them dry around 4 hours before continuing on the center pieces.

This is the enclosure almost completed with all center braces installed and caulked.

The hardware, I chose minimalist hinges because this is going to be a display tank and i didnt want a cluttered look. The latch I might install later if I decide to keep potentially deadly species.

A Bonus!! A sweet little BenchMade folder I picked up at the Bass Pro Shops.

Im thinking 2x emperors, 1x hadogenes paucidens, 2x vaejovis carolinianus. Depends on what I can get, anything else ill keep in the good ole' deli container. I want to get some L. quinquestriatus or something from the Androctonus family to make it exciting but honestly I dont know if I could justify the risk of owning something like that.

Very cool. I wouldn't mind seeing some pics of your scorpions. That would rock.

i used to catch (i couldn't care less how to spell this, so i'm gonna loogieafy it..) vinegar-roons. Not scorpions of course, but they looked just like em but big, fat and purple. They were cool, and when you step on em, they smell like you just drank a gallon of vinegar, and puked it all.

keep us updated. i love non fish DIYs. Even on fish sites, because the fundamentals are basically the same, and everyone can learn something from everyone else.

Babycurus Jacksoni, really nice mellow guy, this is probably my favorite scorpion to date.

One of the few Emperors I have, the little rings in the substrate parts of a millipede i fed him! :) Varied diet consists of crickets, millipedes, cokroaches, small anoles.

Im holding one up for reference, they are actually pretty big. I usually dont handle any of my scorpions or tartantula.

Hope you guys enjoy!
