i grew up drinking johnnie black label. jack crown jameson etc to follow.
but over the weekend a buddy and i looked thru his rather small collection of spirits and there he pulled out a glenfiddich.

oh man how good that was. it was like a party in my mouth!!!:headbang2

anyway he also recommended glenlivet. any of you guys know how that tastes? or can recommend me to another fine scotch whisky in the $40-60 range?

p.s. it was soo good i let the fish try some!!!

Glenfiddich is ok, I'll drink it if I have to. The Glenlivit is muucch better IMO. I'm not a big drinker, but that is ALL i drink. Go for the 12 or the 18 (big bucks). There is a 15yo, but I dont like it, its aged in a different type of barrel, and not as good as the others.

For better or worse as a kid I hung around with an unusual cast of characters, mostly older italian guys of questionable employment - if you know what I mean. They got me drinking Glenlevit at 16 years old, and have been drinking it since.

what drug??? but thats why i said this thread will be closed soon

yea im going to pick up a bottle of glenlivet later and give it a go.

johnnie black is definantly a staple in my consumption. but i love tasting new liquors.

j. blue is obviously a top choice but i would say i dont have the pleasure to indulge in it as much as i'd like to.

this is for a daily drink after work, hence the $40-60 price tag i was looking for.

thanks for the input
