I know this has been discussed with various tank sizes...but, I noticed last night, which I forgot seeing it before... a deeper scratch towards the bottom of my 265g. I did take pics, which aren't the clearest, but the scratch seems to stand out in it. I marked the ends of it with a crayon so I can tell if it's growing. It doesn't seem like to be a crack from other pics I've seen. Maybe the previous owner had a slate of drifwood hit the side of it?? I know there were slider turtles in it previously which did scratch up the tank. When we brought it home, we noticed a chip in the glass on one side that was siliconed, and I found a really small one that we patched up as well. I have found over time various lil' chips in the glass, which I haven't thought much of..just like lil' specks...
I'm just worrried about this scratch turning hairline. It's not thru the glass, but it's there...
my main question is should I tear down the tank to patch it up, or just wait and see. I know waiting can turn into a flood...I just have nowhere to house my 2' kitty fish, flowerhorn, and algea eater for me to patch it...
I did think about buying a brand new tank, but there's no guarantees with that either...plus the money. I did think about putting the fish in an indoor kiddie pool, lol, but I have lil' kids so that won't work...
I'm going to post pics, but they are rather terrible...
